Finding Volume

The project this 6 weeks requires you to find the volume of an object around your house. You’ll need to create a model of the object by representing it using prisms, spheres, cylinders, cones, pyramids, or other shapes where you know how to find the volume.

You’ll then submerge your object in a graduated cylinder, measuring cup, or similar, to find out how much water is displaced.

Fun! Your report will be exactly 1 page long and should be in the form a mini-poster or infographic. There is an example at the end of the guide, although you’d probably want to create a catchy title for yours. You will submit your finished work through Schoology.

You must submit the completed project no later than 4/7/2017.

If you need to use rulers, calipers, or graduated cylinders, you can come before or after school.
